Steam Rail Spectacular

from $760.00

“Steam Rail Spectacular” is a classic shot that takes us back in history with some of the countries most spectacular steam train engines. The Exford viaduct was built in 1886 and was built to reflect the growing economy by providing a more direct rail link to country Victoria and Melbourne.

The Steam Rail Spectacular was the first event of its kind that provided a snap shot into a unique moment in history with 3 generations of ‘VR’ passenger locomotives triple heading through Ingliston Bank to Ballarat.

The spectacular was incredible with the 1000 tonne engines crossing the old heritage listed viaduct that crosses the Melton/Exford reservoir, which holds sentimental value as it backs onto my families farm. The area had been through significant drought, and what makes the moment more unique is that the reservoir is almost at capacity.
