ARTIST STATEMENT

Standing beside me, you feel the cool dawn air, tinged with the faint scent of salt and seaweed, filling our lungs as we gaze across the rock shelves of Terrigal's Skillion. The first light of sunrise casts gentle pink and golden hues across the sky, illuminating the water as it surges and crashes against the rugged coastline. Waves roll in, one after another, each one more intense than the last, sending sheets of frothy water cascading across the rock shelves in rhythmic bursts.

We watch as the ocean breathes, pulling back momentarily, only to surge forward with renewed energy. The relentless motion of the tide is both powerful and mesmerizing, a dance between tranquility and raw, untamed force. The water flows toward us, splashing at our feet, and then retreats, leaving shimmering trails in its wake. The scene is alive, constantly shifting, as if the ocean itself is awakening to greet the day.

The quiet roar of the waves fills the air, a steady, comforting rhythm that makes you feel small yet connected to the vastness of nature. In this moment, we are bound to the sea, the sky, and the enduring cycle of water against rock. Together, we stand on the edge of something timeless, as if bearing witness to the ocean’s infinite heartbeat.
