ARTIST STATEMENT

On a misty morning, the forest takes on an entirely different character. The overcast light softens the landscape, highlighting the towering gum trees that stand like ancient monoliths. Their bark, weathered and textured, glows subtly in the muted light, creating an almost mystical atmosphere.

As I wandered through the forest, the air was filled with the fresh scent of damp earth, the gentle rustle of ferns, and the soft hush of nature waking up. Driving along a dirt road, searching for pockets of fog nestled among the trees, I felt an undeniable peace, a connection to the serenity that only nature can provide.

In this quiet moment, I focused on capturing the unrefined beauty of the trees, their intricate arrangement, and the balance they brought to the scene. This forest, with its simple yet profound splendour, reveals its magic to those who are willing to pause and look closer. It’s in these moments of stillness, amidst the sentinel trees, that the forest shares its most intimate secrets.
