ARTIST STATEMENT

As I soar over the vastness of Lake Eyre, a breathtaking tapestry unfolds beneath me. The Neales Delta sprawls across the landscape, its intricate blue veins carving through the earth, winding and weaving in seemingly endless pathways. The water’s vibrant hue starkly contrasts with the parched earth, giving the land a sense of life and purpose in this otherwise barren desert. From above, each winding channel tells a story of ancient waters that have carved their way through time, creating these twisting paths that seem to pulse like lifelines. The curves and turns of each tributary feel almost deliberate, as if nature itself has painted this masterpiece.

There’s a profound silence up here, a sense of reverence as I gaze upon this untouched beauty. The view is humbling; these veins of blue stretching into the horizon remind me of the resilience of life, of nature’s ability to carve out beauty in the harshest of places. Standing here, I’m not just an observer but a witness to the enduring relationship between water and earth.
