ARTIST STATEMENT
As we soar above the expanse of Lake Eyre, the landscape below unfolds like an abstract masterpiece. From this height, the textures and formations of the salt lake reveal themselves in mesmerising patterns, but one shape immediately catches our eyes—a perfect resemblance to a human heart, etched naturally into the salt. I gesture to you, sharing the thrill of witnessing this uncanny likeness, a beautiful reminder of nature’s artistry that feels almost intentional as if the earth itself is showing us its heartbeat.
The aerial view presents layers of pink and white salt, interwoven in a way that is both delicate and rugged, each contour shaped by time, wind, and water. Together, we marvel at this heart-shaped formation, feeling the vastness of the outback stretches endlessly around us, but here, in this singular moment, nature seems to speak directly to us.
