About the photograph
It was one of those crisp mornings where the air felt fresh with the promise of a perfect autumn day. The first light was beginning to weave through the trees, casting soft shadows across the quiet pathway. The leaves, painted in hues of gold, amber, and crimson, were just starting to loosen their grip, falling gently from the canopy above. Each gust of wind sent them swirling through the air, dancing in graceful patterns as they floated down to the ground. The scene was alive with movement, the rustling of leaves mingling with the distant calls of birds waking with the sun.
As I stood there, camera in hand, I could feel the stillness of the moment despite the flurry of activity around me. The white fences on either side of the road seemed to guide the eye forward, inviting me to wander deeper into this autumn wonderland. The light was perfect, soft and diffused, adding warmth to the vibrant colours of the season. The quiet beauty of this road at Matcham was made even more magical by the constant fall of leaves, each one catching the light for a fleeting second before settling onto the path.
It was the kind of morning where time seemed to stretch, the quiet and the beauty blending together in a perfect harmony. The leaves continued to fall like confetti, as if the trees were celebrating the golden season in their own way, creating a memory that would linger long after the last leaf had touched the ground.
