ARTIST STATEMENT

The vast expanse of the ocean has always held a magnetic allure for me, as has water in its many forms. Its ceaseless motion and ever-changing moods are a constant source of fascination.

As the tide reached out like a hand with countless grasping fingers, I set my camera to a slow shutter speed. Through the lens, what had been a turbulent ocean of roaring waves was transformed into a dreamlike blanket of mist. It was as if the ocean's fury had been hushed into a serene whisper, lending an ethereal quality to the scene.

I yearned to capture an image that visually narrates the day's adventure and encapsulates the prevailing conditions. An idea that would serve as a testament to the raw beauty unveiled in the face of the storm.

So I waited with bated breath, my eyes scanning the churning waters for the right wave and moment. My patience was a small price for the reward that awaited - the sight of the perfect wave crashing against the rocky point, its movement captured in a mesmerising dance of water and light.

This was the narrative I sought to tell - of the fierce beauty of the ocean, the calm within the storm, and the patience required to appreciate nature's grand spectacle truly.
