ARTIST STATEMENT

As the day began surrendering to the twilight, I found myself at the majestic Glasshouse Rocks. Like a ritual, I was there with the familiar hope of capturing the sky's transformation, its vibrant palette of colours that comes alive at sunset.

On this evening, the seas were tumultuous, their wild waves crashing against the shores with an untamed ferocity. The high tide added a layer of drama to the already captivating scene, swallowing up the shoreline bit by bit as if nature was orchestrating a theatrical performance.

Among the multitude of sights vying for attention, one rock stood out. It seemed to be engaged in a mesmerising dance with the water, gracefully moving around with the rhythmic ebb and flow of the tides. This solitary rock, steadfast amidst the chaos, stirred my interest, and I couldn't help but focus on capturing its unique interaction with the elements.

As the sun descended, the sky started to glow with a radiance that only a setting sun could lend. However, the misty aura enveloping the scene truly captured my heart. The hazy veil added a dreamy quality to the image, softening the contrasts and painting the landscape with an ethereal touch.

In the distance, you might spot three of my companions exploring the beach further up. But this perspective - the solitary rock, the dramatic seas, and the misty sunset - truly sparked my imagination. Each element came together to create a scene that was as breathtaking as it was evocative, a testament to Glasshouse Rocks's raw and enchanting beauty.
